Follow the steps below to find 6 credit courses and add them to your saved schedules.
All full year (6 credit) courses can be found in the course schedule under Winter Term 1.
As an Arts student, you are eligible to take up to 15 credits per term for a total of 30 credits over the winter session. Because all full year courses are classified under Term 1 in Workday, adding a 6 credit course may push your displayed Term 1 course load to 18 credits, even though you would actually be enrolled in 15 credits. Therefore, be advised that you can enrol in a maximum of 12 additional credits in Term 2.
How to add full year (6 credit) courses to saved schedule →
Please do not add sections that cause time conflicts on your saved schedule. Workday will allow you to do this for courses that span the whole academic period and conflict with other Term 2 courses. While you can technically add these to your saved schedule, you should not.
These time conflicts will cause your registration to be unsuccessful.

Credit Limit Considerations
As an Arts student, you are eligible to take up to 15 credits per term for a total of 30 credits over the Winter Session.
If you wish to take more than one 6 credit course over the Winter Session, you must submit a credit load adjustment request form.
- 6 credit courses are housed in the term that they begin (Sept) Term 1.
- A 6 credit course only appears in the Term 1 saved schedule, even though you will take the course in Term 2 as well.
- You may want to use two browser tabs to review both of your saved schedules at the same time.
- Alerts for scheduling conflicts will not appear if any Term 2 courses conflict with any 6 credit courses.
Important information about saved schedules
- Creating a saved schedule does not register you in courses. You must follow separate instructions to register from a saved schedule.
- You must make a saved schedule for each term. We recommend starting with Term 1.
- Saved schedules for Term 1 and Term 2 don’t talk to each other, so you may see an orange alert saying you don’t have the prerequisites for a Term 2 course (when you are fulfilling the prerequisite in your Term 1 saved schedule). You can ignore that warning and proceed to add that Term 2 course.
- When creating a saved schedule, you can only add courses that are offered in the same academic session. Courses starting in September are Term 1, courses starting in January are Term 2, and all courses starting from May to August are Summer Term.
